Oh hai, this is from [info]eviinsanemonkey :
• Leave me a comment saying "Resistance is Futile."
• I'll respond by asking you five questions so I can satisfy my curiosity.
• Update your journal with the answers to the questions.
• Include this explanation in the post and offer to ask other people questions.

1. If you met Marshall Teller on the street, what would you say to him?
Oh my God! *fights fangirl instincts* Where have you been since Eerie ended?!

2. Do you like writing more or drawing?
Writing, definitely, because that's what I want to make a career out of. Drawing's just a hobby (and a way to give my characters faces).

3. What do you want to be when you grow up?
An author! But I realize how impractical that is, so I'd be happy with freelancing or a full-time job for a newspaper, mag, whatever.

4. What's your favourite way to waste time?
Surfing the net. I do this ALL THE TIME.

5. What talent are you most proud of?
The ability to pick up pretty much any subject and do well at it, school-wise. It makes me feel versatile.

Things I would love to do this month BUT CAN'T:
-NaNoWriMo! This is the first time in like 5 years I really haven't had the time to do it! Not that I've ever had success with it (hell, I don't even think I've even made it to 25,000 words), but it was still a good way to spur me to write. But I have been writing anyway, so yeah.
-[info]yuletide Because this sounds like loads of fun, and it would give me an excuse to make people write me Eerie!fic, but again, NO TIME.
- Organize my iTunes library so every song has a pretty album cover to go with it. AKA me being anal.
- FANMIXES. I've got a bunch of lists for fanmixes (hello, Mars/Dash list from forever ago!), but I've yet to actually make one.
- Draw! Ugh, haven't been doing that much lately (except for my drawing class which doesn't count, because that's not what I want to draw).

Things I need to do this month:
- Write my 20-25 page pager for Research Design. No, I'm not kidding. At least the title page, abstract, and reference pages count towards that number. Oh, and to go with this, I also need to hand out 60 surveys, analyze the results, and put the results in said paper. AAAAGH! Thankfully, I can virtually write the rest of the paper now, since I did all the research part early (thank God that's out of the way). I hate large projects. And this, my friends, is why I will not miss college when I'm done.
- Write my other article for Feature Writing. Not hard, just tedious.
- Stay healthy. Seriously, there's been stomach viruses/bronchitis/swine flu/the plague going around both on campus and at work, and I cannot afford to get sick right now.

To balance all this unpleasantness, I'm trying to write my own stuff (during class, oops! never hurt my GPA, though) and watch some new shows. Merlin's a nice dose of AWESOME every Saturday, and there's a few other shows I'm eying as well. Hmm.

SIX MORE WEEKS. Hopefully they won't all suck, since I'd like to be in a Christmas mood with plenty of time to listen to Christmas music (but not before Thanksgiving, since that's crazy retailer mentality).

Keep me sane, please? o.o

Hee, so we're having a Midnight Madness sale at the store next Saturday. :D And the best thing? WE GET TO WEAR PAJAMAS.

"Zombies in P.J.'s", anyone? XDXDXD

And, OMG, tonight's episode of Merlin was AMAZING. Seriously the best episode this season by far (and it amuses me to know that the same person who wrote this episode was the same guy who wrote episode 3, AKA the episode that made me really ship Merlin/Morgana. Hee!)
Cut for spoilers of WIN~! )

AWW RIGHT. I could go to bed now, but we're going back to Standard Time-- fall back (unless you're in Eerie, in which case you'd better not or you'll wind up in the Lost Hour...) So I'm gonna use that extra hour. :)

First post on the new laptop! *pets it*

His name is Arthur, and he's a shiny beast. Totally worth the money. :D

It's so nice to be on a fast computer again.

And now, a meme (from [info]eviinsanemonkey ):
1) Post a list of up to 20 books/movies/anime/TV shows/video games/bands [fannish etc.] that you've had an obsessive fannish love or interest in at some time in your life.

2) Have your f-list guess your favourite character/member from each item.

3) When someone guesses correctly, strikethrough the item and put the name of your favorite character next to it.

Fandoms under the cut... )

Have fun, guys.

First: If you haven't replied to my Eerie!comment fic entry, DO IT.

Second: BOOK SQUEE! After a slew of announcements, 2010's gonna be an awesome year in books.
March 15: Fang (how creative, lol) comes out-- AKA Maximum Ride book 6. Ever since the atrocity that was book 4, I've been both excited and wary about other releases by JP, but Max, while ultra-corny, was leaps and bounds better. And the summary for this one actually sounds interesting.
May 4: The first book (!! didn't know it was gonna be a series!) in Rick Riordan's Egyptian mythology series~! I love Percy to death, so I already know this series is gonna be good.
July 13: The Atlantis Complex-- NEW ARTEMIS FOWL!!!! :D Can you tell I'm the most excited about this? I'm glad Eoin Colfer came back to this series much sooner than he said he would.
winter 2010: And finally, the next Camp Half-Blood series starts! I so hope it's either about Percy and Annabeth's kid, or he/she is involved somehow.

And if Genius Wars comes out next year, that'll be like icing on the proverbial cake. Mmm, cake. Also true if the final book in the Hunger Games trilogy comes out; I'm enjoying the series way more than I thought I would.

Enough fangirling for one day... carry on.

As in, not mine.

So, a proposal: comment fic. Comment to this post with a short Eerie fic, whatever it might be.

I JUST WANT SOMETHING TO READ, PEOPLE. I don't give a damn who you write about, what you write about (as long as it's Eerie), just DO IT.

...please?

I love how half the Merlin fandom is totally incensed about the latest episode, and the other half is elated about it. I'm kind of in the middle, 'cause while the Arthur/Gwen is adorable (I can ship just about anyone on this show), I don't like that Arthur's character development from the end of last season was sacrificed for it. Yes, he and Merlin would still bicker--that's just how they are--, but he wouldn't treat Merlin like absolute shit the way he has in season 2 so far.

I'm just excited that we finally get a Morgana-centric episode this week. She's my favorite Merlin lady! :D

And now, while I should be doing homework, a meme instead.

Ask me a fandom and I will tell you:

+ Runner-up
+ Honorable mention(s)
+ Crack pairing(s)

So I'm watching Scooby-Doo: The Mystery Begins right now, and it's AWESOME. Scooby-Doo was my first fandom love before anything-- before I knew what fandom was, before I knew about anime, and most importantly, before I was corrupted by the Internet. I even still have my stuffed Scooby. <3 Shaggy/Velma FTW!

*ahem*

ANYWAY. The real reason I'm here-- fic!

Short and sweet:
School this semester should be all right. Accounting, Editing, and Basic Drawing will all be easy (although Basic Drawing might be a bit time-consuming); Feature Writing will be okay once I get past the first article on such a ridiculous deadline, especially considering there are kids in there who have never even taken News Writing (!!!); and Research Design... eh, it'll work out as long as I don't procrastinate. My complaint? I don't like having class every day, since I'm so used to having Wednesday nights off. Ugh. Is it December yet?

Also, does anyone know where I can watch the first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars? I've seen a few episodes that piqued my interest, but I can't find all the episodes in order (and I'd rather not buy the DVD until I know I like it enough). So, help if possible, please?

On a related note, I need to find some more stuff to watch. Maybe I'll finally get Banner of the Stars...

Firstly: I've discovered this week why I didn't go to school to be a teacher-- I simply hate teaching people things. Cashier-ing, for instance. My reasoning: if I understand something and someone else doesn't, I don't understand why they don't understand it, if that makes any sense. That, and my patience is very, very limited. Hence, if they ever want me to train another cashier, I'm gonna run screaming out the door. D:

Secondly (I don't care if that's not a word, it's my journal and I do what I want!): Alumni Band is on Friday! I am so ridiculously excited for this, because marching band is what made high school enjoyable for me. So every year I go back and harass the high school kids I still know (which is very few these days) while reliving my days of band geek glory. It's a shame that Jackie can't come home and do the whole shebang with me. :(

Thirdly: School starts next week, and I am ready to get my last year of school EVER over and done with. Won't miss it much-- college has pretty much bored me. That's what I get for living at home, I suppose.

Fourthly: Yes, I need to post pics of Merlin the kitty. I'm notorious for taking pics and never ever posting them.

Fifthly and lastly: A meme! Taken from [info]froodle : Ask me my top 5 fandom whatevers, and I'll answer them all in a new post (be creative, I know you all can do it! <3)

ETA: Here's Mr. Merlin! :) Isn't he cute?
So I'm not a total spammer, pic under the cut. )

Random update- GOOO!

-School starts soon, my last year EVER! I'm so excited to just get it over with. Sadly, my boyfriend's going to be at naval boot camp on my graduation, but at least he's taken the steps necessary for us to start a life together sooner rather than later. That'll be a hard adjustment for me (him being away that long), but it'll be worth it in the end. And who knows, maybe I'll get to live someplace nice- like Hawaii. XD

-I need to get back to working on something original, writing-wise. Ironically, I'll probably get more of that done during the school year; I think summer, with my added work hours, makes me lazy.

-Speaking of work, I now have new bosses; the store was sold a few months back. Fortunately, they seem to think I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread-- no, seriously. I pretty much get to do what I want anymore, which is awesome and makes going to work a whole lot more bearable. They're just sad that I can't work as much during school, to which I say, too bad. XD They'd probably love it if I stayed there forever, but I vow never to work in retail again after this. Too much hassle.

-Uh, so, I recently bought Liberty's Kids on DVD and have been watching pretty much that and only that as of late. Yes, it's a kids show, and yes, it's fantastically corny, but it is historically accurate. Benedict Arnold is such a prima donna. But Lafayette is awesome, and he totally was, as one soldier put it, "Washington's little French pet." I laughed so hard when I heard that. It's because of this show that I even have a remote interest in history, and pretty much only that time period.

-Still trying to work through a massive list of books I want to read; next up is Empire of Ivory, AKA Temeraire book 4. After I'm done with the series (there's a book 5 as well), I'm going to read The Hunger Games-- it's supposed to be good. But I'm more excited for Artemis Fowl #7, tenatively called The Atlantis Complex, according to Colfer's Twitter. There was supposed to be something like a 3-year wait after the last book, but I think Colfer just couldn't stay away from it. The Supernaturalist didn't need a sequel anyway- nothing could make up for that awful ending. :/

Think that's everything... better shut down the computer, since there's more storms coming. I <3 thunderstorms.

A meme I've seen floating around- you post the first line of the last 20 fics you've written, and then try to spot any trends.

The lines... )

The trends:
- Uh, they're all Eerie fics. NO SURPRISE THERE. >_>
- A lot of them are really short lines, which is strange, because I tend to write longer sentences. :/
- Most of them identify the protagonists by name...
- When I'm writing longer stuff, I write in past tense, but since I started writing these shorter fics, a lot of them are actually in present tense.

Rating: PG
Pairing: Mars/Dash. ...Mash? *is shot*
Summary: Marshall isn't so sure he's used to the whole of idea of being with Dash just yet...

Went to see Half-Blood Prince last night, and despite a few scenes I was expecting and didn't see, I did really enjoy it. There were a lot more funny moments that I was expecting, which was good (lol, oh Ron: "So, Harry, did you and Ginny do it?" The look on his face didn't help either...). But the real thing that I fangirled over was before the movie- THIS:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SGITXIELXXE

PERCYYYYYYY *flails* I have very high hopes for this movie. And damn, Logan Lerman is cute. You can guess where I'll be on President's Day next year. 8D

Thanks for the support re:my last entry, guys. It means a lot. <3

Moving along.

I have in my mind a list of crossovers... most of which should probably never be written but I might write them anyway...! Be amazed at the sheer crack that happens in my head:

1. Merlin/Ouran High School Host Club-
Come on. Couldn't you see Arthur as the spoiled, rich boy and Merlin as the poor, hapless scholarship student who gets tangled up in his affairs? And Morgana's like the embodiment of the Hitachiin twins. XD  Oh, the hijinks to be had!

2. Eerie, Indiana/Evangelion
Please tell me I'm not the only one who sees similarities between Dash and Kaworu. But Shinji is no Marshall-- Marshall's not a whiny, pathetic wimp of a boy (and this is coming from a girl who really wasn't too bothered by Shinji, heh). It would be pretty awesome to see the boys as mecha pilots, though. Hell, I'd probably do a crossover between Eerie and any other mecha-oriented show (and I blame this desire squarely on Code Geass).

3. Eerie/Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle
All these live-action/manga crossovers... that's what happens when I've been watching anime since the third grade! Anyway. A group of travelers, going between universes-- it seems only right that they'd end up in a place known for weirdness, right? Simon would get along with Syaoran and Sakura, Kurogane would just be annoyed, and Fai... oh my God. Hilarity would ensue he'd probably flirt with Dash just to piss both Kurogane and Marshall off...

4. (and I'm really ashamed to admit this one...) Temeraire/Liberty's Kids
DON'T JUDGE ME. D: But hey, Temeraire takes place during the Napoleonic Wars... so wouldn't dragons have kicked ass in the Revolutionary War? This one's really prevelant in my mind right now, since I'm both reading book 3 of Temeraire and watching my box set of Liberty's Kids. No, I can't explain my taste in TV or books. Or music, really. I'm an oddball. XD

5. (well, not so much crack, as it actually makes a lot of sense) Eerie/So Weird
Anyone else remember So Weird? Basically the same concept as Eerie, just with a girl instead of Marshall and around the country instead of one town. What would happen if Fiona Phillips and Marshall Teller ever met? SHEER GREATNESS, that's what. And Dash's insane jealousy. XD

Any more you think would be cracky, yet awesome? Tell me, I'd love to hear them! :D
