Random update- GOOO!
-School starts soon, my last year EVER! I'm so excited to just get it over with. Sadly, my boyfriend's going to be at naval boot camp on my graduation, but at least he's taken the steps necessary for us to start a life together sooner rather than later. That'll be a hard adjustment for me (him being away that long), but it'll be worth it in the end. And who knows, maybe I'll get to live someplace nice- like Hawaii. XD
-I need to get back to working on something original, writing-wise. Ironically, I'll probably get more of that done during the school year; I think summer, with my added work hours, makes me lazy.
-Speaking of work, I now have new bosses; the store was sold a few months back. Fortunately, they seem to think I'm the greatest thing since sliced bread-- no, seriously. I pretty much get to do what I want anymore, which is awesome and makes going to work a whole lot more bearable. They're just sad that I can't work as much during school, to which I say, too bad. XD They'd probably love it if I stayed there forever, but I vow never to work in retail again after this. Too much hassle.
-Uh, so, I recently bought
Liberty's Kids on DVD and have been watching pretty much that and only that as of late. Yes, it's a kids show, and yes, it's fantastically corny, but it
is historically accurate. Benedict Arnold is such a prima donna. But Lafayette is awesome, and he totally was, as one soldier put it, "Washington's little French pet." I laughed so hard when I heard that. It's because of this show that I even have a remote interest in history, and pretty much only that time period.
-Still trying to work through a massive list of books I want to read; next up is
Empire of Ivory, AKA
Temeraire book 4. After I'm done with the series (there's a book 5 as well), I'm going to read
The Hunger Games-- it's supposed to be good. But I'm more excited for Artemis Fowl #7, tenatively called
The Atlantis Complex, according to Colfer's Twitter. There was supposed to be something like a 3-year wait after the last book, but I think Colfer just couldn't stay away from it.
The Supernaturalist didn't need a sequel anyway- nothing could make up for that awful ending. :/
Think that's everything... better shut down the computer, since there's more storms coming. I <3 thunderstorms.
